The Rainbow Poetess

When I yearn for beauty
I reach for the yarn
to weave precious words
out of threads of sounds

As I weave I make sense
of syllables of thoughts
that neatly come together
as I tie yarn’s knots

And as patterns emerge
I welcome them in–
the light and the dark ones,
the seen and unseen

I shape and reshape
the yarn’s magic threads
and smooth out their softness
Light and delicate

I bask in the colors
of their rhymefull webs
that shimmer with hues
of rainbow-sewn threads

And I’m swept with joy
as colors fill up the verse,
make me the rainbow poetess
of my wondrous universe
